Breast augmentation – Implants and Lipofilling
Beautiful breasts are an essential aspect of natural femininity.
Indication
If the breast is considered too small in relation to the rest of the body or has lost volume over time, this can be perceived as disturbing.
Breast augmentation using silicone implants or autologous fat, customised to individual wishes and possibilities, can be an excellent solution to increase a woman’s sense of well-being in her own body and her self-confidence.
Treatment
Planning
My approach is based on extremely important and detailed planning, in which I work with you to consider the desired volume and your anatomy in order to achieve the most natural result possible.
Incisions
My preference for the incision in the breast crease is based on a worldwide expert consensus that points to increased risks with distant approaches. The implants are placed either above or partially below the pectoral muscle.
I keep the scars as small as possible by using a so-called “Keller funnel”.
Implant selection and insurance coverage
The ability to choose implants from leading manufacturers offers you a comprehensive range of options and insurance cover. Implants generally do not need to be replaced, but regular follow-up examinations, including ultrasound checks, are recommended.
Breast augmentation with autologous fat
Breast augmentation with autologous fat offers a natural form of breast augmentation. However, it is limited in volume and requires sufficient fat reserves on the belly, back and legs. The advantage is that not only can an extremely natural result be achieved, but unwanted fat deposits on the body can also be removed.
Compression garment
After a breast augmentation, a support bra is worn during the healing phase, and a compression girdle is also recommended in the liposuction area.
Hybrid solution
In some cases, a combination of implants and autologous fat may be the optimal solution.
Result
The swelling initially makes the breast appear larger and firmer. After a few weeks, the swelling goes down and the final volume becomes visible.
Ability to breastfeed, nipple sensation and screening
Both breast augmentation with silicone implants and with autologous fat generally leave the breastfeeding function of the mammary gland and the sensation of the nipple unaffected. Likewise, breast cancer screening examinations are not impaired if sufficient radiological expertise is available.
