Breast reduction
Women who decide to have a breast reduction often experience a deep sense of relief and are among the happiest patients in plastic surgery.
Indication
A breast reduction can significantly improve both the physical and psychological well-being of the patient.
Physical complaints
Patients with excessively large breasts often suffer from severe shoulder and back pain. In some cases, skin irritations and eczema may also occur.
Psychological stress
Psychological stress caused by shame, which often arises during puberty, is also not uncommon.
Treatment
The procedure involves the removal of excess fat and glandular tissue as well as sagging skin in order to remodel the breast.
Incision
The incision varies depending on the extent of the findings and can, for example, be made in the form of a keyhole around the areola, vertically downwards towards the breast fold or laterally (J or L shape).
The individualised incision placement allows me to keep it as small as possible without compromising on scar quality and breast shape. Occasionally, an additional incision in the breast fold (T-incision) is required.
Result
Most patients feel relieved immediately after the operation, which often goes hand in hand with an improved self-image.
Compression garment
A compression bra is worn during the healing process.
Breastfeeding and screening
Normally, breastfeeding is still possible after a breast reduction. However, the ability to breastfeed depends on many other factors and therefore cannot be guaranteed.
Provided there is sufficient radiological expertise, preventative cancer screening is not affected by breast reduction.
I always give my best to meet individual needs and achieve excellent results.
