Facelift and neck lift

Indication

The face is the mirror of your identity and conveys your mood. With advancing age, the decreasing elasticity of the skin and the sagging of facial muscles and fat compartments lead to wrinkles and an undesirable change in the shape of the face.

Vitality and youthfulness

The loss of vitality and youthfulness of the facial tissues is often experienced as a contradiction to inner vitality.

Treatment

A facelift, usually performed as a lower neck and cheek lift, reduces pronounced wrinkles and repositions the tissue under the skin to restore the natural facial oval and neck contour.

Deep tissue is shaped and tightened and excess skin is removed.

Autologous fat transplantation

Sometimes the facelift is combined with an autologous fat transplant (lipofilling).

Platysmaplasty

For a more profound neck correction (platysmaplasty), an additional incision is required under the chin.

Result

The result of a facelift operation is only clearly visible after the swelling has subsided in the first 2 weeks and usually lasts for 10 years before a new facelift can be considered.

Aftercare

A head bandage is worn for the first night after the operation. To reduce swelling and bruising, it is important to cool the operated area for the first few days.
