Dermamelan® Depigmentation – Melasma
Effectively reduces pigment spots and melasma – for an even, radiant complexion and visibly improved skin through the application of the Dermamelan mask.

Indication
Dermamelan® combines a highly effective active-ingredient mask with a specialised home-care regimen to ensure ongoing pigment control and inhibit tyrosinase. The treatment begins in the clinic with the application of the Dermamelan mask, which is washed off at home after an individually determined exposure time. This is followed by a structured home-care routine over several weeks, typically including an appropriate cream, to further support depigmentation and prevent the recurrence of skin discoloration.
Dermamelan® treatment
Dermamelan combines a highly effective active ingredient mask with a specialised home care routine for continuous pigment control and tyrosinase inhibition. The treatment begins in the clinic with the application of the Dermamelan® mask, which is washed off at home after an individually determined exposure time. This is followed by a structured home care regimen with appropriate products over several weeks to further support depigmentation and prevent relapse.
Due to the high sun sensitivity of the skin after treatment, Dermamelan should only be performed in the colder months of the year. This ensures an optimal and safe result.
Aftercare and result
In the first few days after the treatment, redness, dryness, or mild flaking may occur. Consistent care according to the treatment plan, along with daily high sun protection (SPF 50+), is essential to minimise skin sensitivity. After just a few weeks, the complexion appears noticeably more even and dark spots visibly fade. For long-lasting results, strict adherence to the home-care regimen is a key component of the depigmentation treatment.

Frequently asked questions about Dermamelan® depigmentation treatment
What distinguishes Dermamelan® from conventional lightening creams?
Dermamelan® works long-term and specifically regulates overactive melanin production in the deeper layers of the skin. This reduces existing pigmentation and prevents new ones — with lasting effect. How quickly will I see results?
The skin starts to visibly improve within the first 7–14 days. Significant lightening of pigmentation spots usually appears after 2 to 4 weeks. The full result develops over 2–3 months.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
Dermamelan® is suitable for all skin types and is especially effective for melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and hormone-related pigment changes.
Are there any contraindications?
The treatment is not recommended for very sensitive skin, during acute skin inflammations, during pregnancy, or while breastfeeding. A thorough skin analysis and consultation are conducted before treatment.
Should I expect any downtime after this depigmentation treatment?
In the first week after the treatment, the skin may be red, dry, and slightly flaky. These reactions are normal and part of the process. You will be socially presentable again after a few days, provided you follow the appropriate skincare routine.
Can I wear makeup after the treatment?
In the first few days, you should avoid using makeup as much as possible so the skin can regenerate undisturbed during the peeling phase and the effectiveness of the active ingredients is not compromised. Afterwards, light, non-comedogenic makeup may be used — ideally after consulting with us.
Is repetition of the Dermamelan® treatment necessary?
Depending on the depth and cause of pigmentation, a repeat treatment after 6–12 months may be advisable. For prevention, we recommend consistent sun protection and pigment-balancing skincare, which inhibits tyrosinase.
Why is home care so important?
Post-treatment home care is a central part of Dermamelan® therapy. It stabilises the results, prevents relapses, and prolongs the depigmentation effect. We support you with an individual care plan.
Can side effects occur with the Dermamelan treatment?
Yes, mild and temporary side effects can occur with the Dermamelan treatment. In the first few days, the skin may appear red and feel sensitive, often similar to the sensation after a gentle peel. The skin will gradually flake, which is a normal part of the depigmentation process. These reactions are considered normal and typically subside after a few days with the recommended skincare routine, while melanin production is being regulated.
