Excessive sweating – hyperhidrosis
Botulinum is an effective remedy for unpleasant sweating in various parts of the body, including the armpits, hands, feet and forehead.

Indication
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweat production. Around 1 to 2 per cent of the population suffer from this condition, which can have a significant impact on personal and social life. Hyperhidrosis is often genetic and often occurs in childhood or adolescence. It is not caused by poor hygiene, stress or chronic anxiety.
Treatment
Treatment with botulinum inhibits the nerve signals that control sweating. Sweat production can therefore be reduced by up to 90 per cent. The effect is usually noticeable after 1 to 2 weeks. The required dosage can vary from person to person and must be adjusted accordingly.
Alternatively, hyperhidrosis can be treated with Morpheus8™. The Morpheus8™ treatment uses fine microneedles that direct targeted radio frequency energy into the deeper layers of the skin. This thermally destroys the sweat glands, effectively reducing excessive sweating.
Botulinum protects against sweating and can prevent body odor.

Frequently asked questions about hyperhidrosis treatment
Who is suitable for hyperhidrosis treatments?
Botulinum and Morpheus8™ are not only beneficial for people who suffer from excessive sweating, but also for people who like to keep their armpits dry and for those who suffer from spontaneous or stress-induced sweating of the hands or forehead.
Will I sweat more on other parts of my body after hyperhidrosis treatment?
Hyperhidrosis treatment does not normally lead to a noticeable compensatory increase in sweat production in other parts of the body. The treatment protects against sweating and can also prevent body odour.
Are there treatment alternatives?
Procedures such as miraDry® and surgical sweat gland curettage are effective alternatives.
When can I resume exercise?
After non-surgical treatment of the sweat glands, you can resume exercise the next day.
How regularly does the treatment need to be repeated?
Botulinum treatment of the sweat glands usually needs to be repeated after about 6 months in order to maintain the effect.
The success of treatment with Morpheus8™ is usually permanent after 2 to 3 sessions. Sweat gland curettage, on the other hand, is usually only performed once and leads to a permanent result.
Are there any risks?
Treatment with botulinum has virtually no complications and only causes a slight burning sensation or occasional bruising. There is a potential risk of burns or injury to deeper structures with the Morpheus8™ treatment, but this is extremely unlikely if applied correctly.
What are the costs for hyperhidrosis treatment?
The costs vary depending on the extent of the treatment and start at 700 CHF.
