Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty can significantly improve both physical and psychological well-being.

Indication
Enlarged or asymmetrical labia can be congenital or become more pronounced due to ageing, pregnancy and hormonal changes.
Many women suffer from sagging labia, which can cause pain during sport or sexual intercourse.
Aesthetic concerns and psychological stress, such as feelings of shame, are further reasons why women consider treatment.
Treatment
Labiaplasty includes various procedures for the aesthetic and functional correction of the genital area, such as labia reduction, tightening of the clitoral hood and vagina, or filling of the labia majora with autologous fat.
Aftercare and result
After surgery in the genital area, cooling for the first 3 days and careful hygiene are crucial. The wound should be regularly disinfected.
The scars are almost invisible after healing and the sensation of the labia is usually not permanently affected by the procedure.
We are happy to support you in strengthening your self-confidence and well-being in the intimate area.

Frequently asked questions about labiaplasty
How does labia reduction surgery work?
Labia reduction (labiaplasty) is one of the most common operations in the genital area and involves surgical reduction of the labia minora. The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis under local or general anaesthetic and leads to a significant improvement in well-being.
Why do we often tighten the foreskin on the clitoris at the same time?
Excess skin around the clitoris can be aesthetically and sexually disturbing. A clitoral hood lift is often performed in combination with a labia minora reduction to achieve a harmonious result.
When is an augmentation or tightening of the labia majora (outer labia) necessary?
In slim patients or after the menopause, the lack of volume in the labia majora can be disturbing. An autologous fat transplant restores the volume. If there is excess skin, this can be tightened to make the outer genital area appear smoother.
What is a mons pubis lift?
Liposuction or lifting of the mons pubis (monsplasty or mons veneris lift) is performed if there is excess fat or sagging skin. This procedure can optimise the appearance, especially after significant weight changes or in old age.
How does surgery in the genital area work?
Surgery in the genital area, such as labia reduction, rejuvenation of the labia minora with autologous fat and a mons pubis lift, is usually performed in a private clinic with anesthesiological support, depending on the extent of the procedure and your wishes.
How long does a correction in the genital area take?
Correction of the labia minora takes approx. 45 to 60 minutes. Combination procedures can take up to 2 hours.
Is the injection of local anesthetic painful?
We usually perform labiaplasty in deep twilight sleep. This means that you will not feel the anesthetic or the procedure.
Will the labia minora become invisible after a labia reduction?
After a labia minora reduction, the labia minora do not usually become completely invisible, but their size and shape are adjusted to achieve a more aesthetic and harmonious appearance. The results depend on the individual anatomy.
What needs to be considered before and after genital surgery?
We will of course provide you with comprehensive verbal and written instructions that should be followed before and after intimate surgery. Further general information on pre- and post-operative care can be found in the “For patients – resources” section.
When can I resume exercise?
You may return to sport approximately 2 weeks after intimate surgery. Activities that can cause friction or pulling, e.g. cycling, should be avoided for 6 weeks.
When is sexual intercourse possible again?
After a labiaplasty, sexual intercourse should not be resumed for at least 6 weeks after the operation to ensure smooth healing and avoid complications.
What complications can occur?
After labiaplasty, there may be severe swelling or post-operative bleeding, which could cause the wound to come apart. In such rare cases, however, the wound usually heals without aesthetic impairment. Moderate swelling of the labia and slight bleeding in the area of the suture are normal in the first 3 days after the operation.
How much does a labiaplasty cost?
The costs vary depending on the scope of the treatment. The costs for a labiaplasty start at 3 000 CHF. We would be happy to discuss the individual costs in a personal consultation.
Does the health insurance company cover part of the costs?
In Switzerland, health insurance companies tend not to cover the costs of a labiaplasty, as such procedures are of an aesthetic nature. We therefore offer this procedure exclusively as a self-pay service.
