Mommy Makeover
A Mommy Makeover is a holistic procedure that aims to restore a youthful and attractive body shape after pregnancy.

Indication
Despite a healthy diet and regular exercise, it is often difficult to regain the desired body shape after pregnancy. Excess skin, a protruding belly and sagging, empty breasts often remain. Sometimes localised fat deposits develop on the waist and thighs, which do not disappear with diet and exercise. There are also frequent changes in the genital area: loosening of the vagina and thinning labia.
Treatment
A “Mommy Makeover” is a combination of several surgical procedures aimed at correcting the unwanted changes that can occur after pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. The procedures are individually combined to restore a harmonious body shape and take into account the specific needs of each woman.
We will be happy to discuss your individual needs with you and create a customised treatment plan for you.
The aim is for you to feel comfortable in your own skin again.

Frequently asked questions about Mommy Makeover
Which procedures are part of the Mommy Makeover?
A classic Mommy Makeover often includes a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) with abdominal wall reconstruction and a breast lift, with or without implants or autologous fat grafting (lipofilling). Liposuction can be added to remove localised fat deposits. Depending on individual needs, procedures can also be performed in the genital area.
How does a mommy makeover work?
On the day of the operation, you will arrive at the private clinic about an hour before your Mommy Makeover, where we will mark out the surgical plan. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and usually takes 3 to 5 hours, depending on the treatment combination.
Is a Mommy Makeover painful?
A Mommy Makeover can be associated with pain and discomfort in the first few days after the operation. However, this can be well controlled with painkillers and pain pumps. The intensity of the pain varies depending on the extent of the procedure and the individual’s sensitivity to pain, but is generally manageable.
When is the ideal time for a Mummy Makeover?
Ideally, a Mommy Makeover should be carried out no earlier than 12 months after the birth. You should also have stopped breastfeeding for at least 6 months and have reached a stable weight. In most cases, family planning is complete, although a subsequent pregnancy is still possible. As heavy lifting should be avoided in the early stages, it is advantageous if your children have already reached an age where they no longer need to be carried all the time?
What do I need to consider before and after a Mommy Makeover?
Of course, we will give you comprehensive verbal and written instructions to follow before and after your tummy tuck. Further general information on pre- and post-operative care can be found in the “For Patients – Resources” section.
When can I shower and bathe again?
You can shower the next day, but you can only bathe when the wounds are completely healed. Usually after 2 weeks.
When can I exercise again?
You can slowly resume exercise at the earliest 2 weeks after the operation. However, more intensive activities such as jumping, skipping or jogging should be avoided at this time. We will discuss the exact recommendations and the appropriate time with you in detail during your consultation.
How painful is a Mommy Makeover?
The pain after a Mommy Makeover is individual and strongly depends on the treatment combination. An overnight stay in the private clinic is usually necessary to ensure that you receive sufficient painkillers. Local nerve blocks are also used to relieve pain and a pain pump can be used for tummy tucks.
How long should you not lie on your side after a mommy makeover?
After a Mommy Makeover, you can lie on your side again immediately, although it is advisable to alternate sides. If a tummy tuck is part of the treatment, it is even advisable to sleep on your side with your legs bent, as this relieves pressure on the stitches and promotes good healing.
Are there any risks involved with a Mommy Makeover?
As with any operation, there are also risks involved with a Mommy Makeover, such as bleeding, impaired scarring, asymmetry and wound healing issues. However, with thorough planning, an experienced plastic surgeon and the right aftercare, these risks can be minimised.
How much does a Mommy Makeover cost?
The costs vary depending on the extent of the treatment. We would be happy to discuss the individual costs in a personal consultation.
