Stem cell therapy
Stem cells are capable of self-renewal and differentiation into different cell types and play a key role in tissue regeneration.

Indication
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have been recognised for their therapeutic potential in a variety of diseases. They contribute to the maintenance of healthy connective tissue and can differentiate into a wide range of adult cells. Adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) are MSCs derived from adipose tissue that are at the forefront of innovative aesthetic treatments. These cells stimulate other cells to produce collagen, elastin and other proteins that are important for skin rejuvenation, providing a natural and fresh appearance.
Treatment
There are basically two different methods for isolating stem cells. The first is based on mechanical processing of the adipose tissue (Lipocube™), while the second uses an enzymatic process to obtain ASC. In the mechanical method, the regenerative cells are isolated as a stromal vascular fraction (SVF).
Proactive aesthetics and medicine
Storing your stem cells at a younger age maintains excellent quality for future medical and anti-aging treatments, while eliminating the need for repeat procedures and enabling proactive management of your health.
There are legal restrictions on the use of stem cells and human stem cell products in Switzerland. We will be happy to inform you about these during a consultation.

Frequently asked questions about stem cell therapy
What can stem cell therapy be used for?
In Switzerland, ASC-based therapies are only permitted for aesthetic purposes. However, the stem cells can be sent worldwide by certified partner laboratories and used in accordance with the respective national laws.
What are the main differences between the two methods?
In stem cell therapy, ASC are isolated from the patient’s own fat tissue and injected into the affected areas. After enzymatic processing, pure ASC can be injected. Both methods (SVF or pure ASC) stimulate cell regeneration and promote the healing of damaged tissue.
The advantage of mechanical processing using the Lipocube™ method is that the stem cells can be injected the very next day. The enzymatic method enables a much higher number of stem cells, their multiplication and storage (banking). Injection of ASC obtained using this method is only possible outside Switzerland.
What is the Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF)?
The Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) is a cell concentrate from adipose tissue that contains various cell types such as progenitor cells, endothelial cells, immune cells and adipose-derived stem cells.
What is the effect of ASC in anti-ageing treatments?
ASC are particularly effective in facial rejuvenation because they promote angiogenesis in the skin, the production of collagen and elastin, and at the same time combat skin damage caused by UVB radiation and oxygen radicals. These processes are crucial for tissue regeneration. Studies show that adipose-derived stem cells are widely distributed in subcutaneous tissue, highlighting their role in skin regeneration and wound healing.
How do ASC affect the hair?
Adipose-derived stem cells can also be used for hair renewal, particularly in androgenetic alopecia. They create a favorable environment for hair growth, stimulate hair follicle cells and extend the hair growth phase.
What other areas of application are there for stem cell therapy?
Stem cell therapy is also used for facial scars and volume loss.
How long can fat stem cells be stored?
With SVF and stem cell banking, stem cells can be stored for up to 30 years under strict Swiss safety standards. This means they can be used later for aesthetic or regenerative therapies.
Why is GMP certification of stem cells important?
Stem cell products derived from adipose tissue that are produced enzymatically must be GMP-certified (Good Manufacturing Practice) for clinical use. The certification is based on the highest Swiss quality and safety standards for medicines and medical devices. GMP certification is also a prerequisite for the banking of stem cells.
Which Swiss partner laboratories do we use for stem cell isolation?
- Swiss Stem Cells Biotech: Specialised in GMP-certified SVF extraction as well as nanofat and microfat products for regenerative and aesthetic medicine.
- Swiss Bioscience: Provides long-term storage and worldwide delivery of autologous enzymatically isolated adipose stem cells within 48 hours to ensure future treatments.
How does stem cell treatment work?
The duration of the treatment varies depending on the area of application. As a rule, stem cell collection takes 20 to 45 minutes, as does the subsequent stem cell treatment. The collection is carried out using mini liposuction and the actual treatment can be carried out the following day at the earliest, depending on the method used. The treatment works like an injection.
How quickly are results recognisable?
The first results are usually visible after a few weeks, as the healing process is set in motion after the injection. Complete results are visible after 3 to 6 months, depending on how quickly the body responds to the treatment.
How many sessions are required?
In most cases, only one treatment is required to achieve initial results. However, for long-term and optimal results, refresher sessions may be necessary, depending on individual needs and goals.
Are there any risks or side effects with stem cell therapy?
Stem cell therapy for aesthetic purposes is considered safe as your own cells are used. Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling or slight pain in the treated areas, but these quickly subside.
