Tummy tuck – abdominoplasty
A flat tummy contributes to a slim and elegant figure.

Indication
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is particularly helpful if excess skin and fatty tissue do not disappear despite diet and exercise. This procedure is often performed to tighten the abdominal region and harmonise the body silhouette.
Treatment
With every tummy tuck, liposuction is performed first. The excess skin tissue is then removed and, in many cases, the abdominal muscles are tightened to improve the firmness of the abdominal wall. The belly button is reintegrated into the tightened abdominal wall to achieve a natural result.
Aftercare and result
After a tummy tuck, you will wear a compression garment for around 6 weeks to support the healing process and minimise swelling. Lymphatic massages can also promote healing and improve the final result. During the first few weeks, you may experience feelings of tension and muscle soreness. Two weeks off work are to be expected, and after 6 to 8 weeks the scars are usually well healed.
We will be happy to discuss individual treatment plans with you to help you achieve a firm tummy.

Frequently asked questions about abdominoplasty
What are the causes of excess skin on the belly?
Common causes of excess skin on the abdomen are pregnancy, advanced age and weight fluctuations. These changes can lead to sagging skin and tissue and fat distribution disorders.
How does a tummy tuck work?
On the day of your tummy tuck, you will arrive at the private clinic about an hour before the planned operation. There we will coordinate and mark the abdominal contours and incision together. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2 to 3 hours.
What is a mini-abdominoplasty?
If the excess skin is only below the belly button, a mini-abdominoplasty is possible. With this method, the procedure is less extensive and the belly button remains untouched.
Are the results of a tummy tuck permanent
With stable weight maintenance, the results are usually permanent. Slight fluctuations in weight generally have no effect on the result.
Do scars remain visible?
The scars are fine lines that fade over time. They are placed in such a way that they are concealed by underwear or swimwear. The exact placement and size of the scar are planned individually with you.
How do we make a beautiful belly button?
We create a beautiful navel using an advanced technique in which care is taken to ensure that the belly button does not appear too large or unnatural. In addition, the scar on the belly button is positioned so that it remains as inconspicuous as possible in the shade to achieve a natural, harmonious look.
What should be considered before and after a tummy tuck?
Of course, we will provide you with detailed verbal and written instructions that should be followed before and after your tummy tuck. Further general information on pre- and post-operative care can be found in the “For patients – resources” section.
Are there any risks?
As with any operation, there are certain risks, including blood clots, infection, hematoma and impaired wound healing. We will discuss these with you in detail.
When can I exercise again after a tummy tuck?
Light exercise can usually be resumed after about 2 weeks. However, more intensive sports should be avoided for up to 3 months, depending on the individual starting position and surgical technique. We will be happy to discuss the exact details in person.
Can I get pregnant again after a tummy tuck?
Yes, you can generally become pregnant again after a tummy tuck. However, pregnancy can affect the results of the operation as the abdomen will stretch again. It is therefore recommended that you only consider a tummy tuck once you have completed your family planning.
How much does a tummy tuck cost?
The cost of a tummy tuck varies depending on the extent of the procedure and starts at 13 000 CHF.
Does health insurance cover a tummy tuck?
In exceptional cases, for example after massive weight loss, health insurance may cover part of the costs under certain conditions. However, we only offer this procedure as a self-pay service.
